Fwd: Community Fair this Sunday 25th March at Mann Oval Lochee street, Mosman Park from 12pm to 5pm

Friends of Mosman Park Bushland will have a stall at the local community fair rather than a bushland busy bee at the end of March.

If you can help give out our brochures and attend our stand to encourage the public to become involved in caring for the bushland please let me know. Or just come along and get to know fellow bush guardians without gloves and saws in hand!

We will have:
  • seeds from local plants that are easy to grow
  • raw Mosman Park backyard honey for sale,
  • a bunch of fountain grass weed for public awareness and 
  • brochures for the May native plant subsidy scheme 

 Christchurch Grammar students putting themselves in the picture! Meticulously picking fountain grass seed heads from a heavy weed infestation at Monument Hill. The seeds last for at least 10 years in the soil! Now that is a lot of weeding!!!

We're needing help checking our recent plantings at Mosman Beach! There will be hand weeding!

Meet at the 3rd shelter from the north end, 1 Curtin avenue, opposite Beehive Montessori school. It's a short walk from Victoria street station and Stirling highway buses! Look for our banner!

Brisbane House Scotch college students have been helping Friends of Mosman Park Bushland and the Town of Mosman Park for many years, planting!

 

We still need to do some infill planting where harsh conditions have been unkind to our plantings. Empty spaces are havens for weed colonisation!

 

Victoria street train station and buses on Stirling highway are close to our planting site!

End of month Sunday Mosman Beach Busy Bee! 9am to 11.30am 28th May 2017

 

A few hands can make the difference as we remove weeds prior to our winter planting! Removing weeds now will improve the success of our plantings as less herbicide is used and less competition for water and nutrients.

Join like minded people in this beautiful setting for a morning's work!
